Iranian short film ‘I am Zal’ (I am albino) has been named the Best Film at this year's edition of the Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) in Australia.
‘I am Zal’ took part in the Short Film Competition of the 14th edition of the IFF and won the Best Film award.
‘I am Zal’ tells the story of a boy with Albinism who is supposed to play the role of a legendary character in a school play, but his mother just like last time punishes him and wants to stop him from taking part in the show.
Daniel’s teachers notice that he has been once again beaten, but this time they stand up against his mother.
The 14th IFF “encourages emerging filmmakers worldwide to experiment and create an intriguing visual narrative that is unique to their own.”
The festival is taking place in Melbourne. It kicked off on March 23 and will run until April 10.
